Maintenance experts from major fire pump manufacturers have said that you must not panic when problems arise in the process of using fire pumps, otherwise unexpected things may occur. Must be clear-headed, so as to be able to minimize the loss. Here are the eight common problems and their solutions in the process of using fire pumps.
 
1: The flow of the fire pump is not enough. Check the seal ring is seriously worn or corroded, if so, replace the new seal ring; check whether the depth of inhalation tube immersion is not enough, there is air in the fire pump, if so, increase the depth of inhalation tube immersion.

2: The head of the fire pump is not enough. Check whether the fire pump speed is not enough, check the current, restore the speed; check whether the impeller corrosion is serious, if so, replace the new impeller; check whether the performance of the fire pump can not meet the design requirements, if so, replace the fire pump in line with the design requirements.
 
3: The fire pump can't pump the liquid. At this time, the problem may be that the pressure out of the pipeline is too thin, the pipeline loss is too large, if this is the reason, it is necessary to change the suitable pressure out of the pipeline in the early stage; correct whether the use of head exceeds the design head, if so, it is necessary to replace the fire pump type, choose the right one is the most important; check the suction height exceeds the allowable range, if so, reinstall the fire pump according to the allowable suction height; check the transmission medium, whether transport hot, volatile media, if yes, reduce the suction range or use backflow installation; check the steering is enough to reverse, if yes, correct the steering; check whether the suction pipe, discharge pipe or fire pump flow channel is blocked, if yes, remove the pipe to clear the debris.
 
4: fire pump vibration is serious, there may be a fire pump and motor shaft is not the center of the problem, at this time, we have to correct, align the fire pump and motor shaft center; at the same time, check whether the fire pump shaft is bent, if the pump shaft is bent, then remove and straighten or replace the new; also check whether the impeller is balanced, if not balanced, then remove and find balance after installation.
 
5: Mechanical seal leakage is serious. Check whether the set screw is loose, so that the spring loses its role, the solution is to tighten the screw or readjust the spring; check whether the spring pressure is not enough, it is necessary to readjust the spring compression or change the spring; check whether the static ring assembly is skewed, the solution to reinstall the static ring for fire pumps; check whether the dynamic for or static ring end corrosion, wear or scratch, the method is to repair or replace the bad dynamic ring static ring; check the bushing processing accuracy and finish is not enough, affecting the axial movement of the moving ring, the method is processing precision qualified sleeve; check whether there are impurities, foreign bodies or media crystallization affect the axial movement of the moving ring or support between the moving and static ring end face, the solution is to eliminate impurities, foreign bodies and crystallization, thorough cleaning of the sealing components; check whether the moving ring seal assembly slant roll or corrosion deformation, reinstallation or replacement of the moving ring seal for fire pumps.
 
6: Fire pump bearing overheating. Check whether the fire pump and the motor shaft are not centered, the method is adjusted to align the fire pump and the motor shaft center; check whether the lubricant (grease) is not available or not enough, the method is to add lubricant (grease) to the required standard; check whether the bearing is damaged, the method is to replace the bearing with a new fire pump.
